This massive remodel was inspired by the desire to open
up the house for experiential indoor/outdoor living. After
transforming a once-stagnant entry courtyard into a dining
room and the living area into a master suite, the remaining
rooms were re-oriented and exposed to capture the majestic
mountain views. Salvaged wooden doors from India flank the
entrance, while the tranquility of the interiors is provided
through soothing neutral tones, natural fibers, and modest
Oriental touches. Outside, an enclosed garden, a handcrafted
rebar fence, and negative-edge lawn reflect the simplicity
of the interiors.
