Kristine Woolsey (CV)
Kristine Woolsey started in the field of architecture at the age of 15 working after school and summers for an architecture/interior design firm in her home town. Her undergraduate degree was in architecture with a specialization in energy efficiency from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia. She continued her education at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris France and then received her Masters in Architecture with a specialization in Urban Design from Arizona State University. She has also continuously nurtured the artistic side of her craft and spent time as a non-degree student at the New York Studio School of Drawing Painting and Sculpture.

Her early working experience includes time in the offices of Energy Efficient Environments, an Atlanta based firm that focused on residential projects and an internship in the New York office of Peterson Littenberg, a firm that is internationally known for both its architecture and urban design projects.

She left practice briefly to join the faculty at Arizona State University. During that period she worked at refining her design skills by researching the connections between movement patterns and architectural form and space. Her ideas caught the attention of other academics and professionals and she lectured at universities across the country, sparking an invitation to teach a semester at the prestigious Southern California Institute of Architecture.

Not content to just teach architectural ideas, she returned to practice at first part-time in conjunction with teaching, then full-time when she launched Woolsey Studio in 1994. Her interests were in providing combined architecture and interior design services in order to create projects that were both functional and beautiful. Her role in the firm is to create the vision for the project and then push her team to design through the problem so that the end result is more than function and more than sculpture. She continues to hone her artistic skills through her drawings and paintings, to develop her architectural ideas through connections to universities, and to develop her ability to lead her team through seminars and consultants.
