Jeff Ericson has always been interested in
big ideas and how they get built. His early adult working life included construction
jobs as well as work in both architecture and civil engineering
offices. His undergraduate study included Engineering and
Creative Writing, as well as Architecture and he received his Undergraduate
Degree in Architecture from Arizona State University. He
then continued and received a double Masters degree in both Architecture
and Construction Management also from Arizona State University. He
continues to hone his skill set with travel, hands on work, and
educational seminars ranging from Urban Land Institute events to
conferences put on by the Vine.
Among his previous employers were notably,
A.R.T, where he was involved in a roll out of a national chain
retailer, Vision Forge which was his own construction company
specializing in custom homes, and Grey Development, where he
was the design principal for numerous multi-family residential
projects. Grey Development is a
well known firm that has in house entitlement, architecture, construction,
and project management. Jeff’s abilities to “speak” all
of those languages made him invaluable.
Jeff has also partnered in development projects,
bringing his ability to think strategically about extremely complicated
issues to bear on his own work. His most recent project
was a 250 unit multi-family with retail mix on an urban site.
Jeff brings several major skill sets to our
work; site strategies, project management, and construction planning
and administration.
Site Strategies
Jeff’s background and talents allows him to work through
the complexities of maximizing a site’s potential while considering
the branding and end user marketing as well as construction cost
and municipal requirements. A number of our clients have
hired the firm just to get Jeff to create their site plans!
Project Management
On all of our projects, Jeff’s role is to run the project
and consultants so that the architectural drawings are what they
need to be to turn the vision into a reality. On our interiors
projects, he supports Kristine with whatever documentation is required
for purchase and installation and he works with the owner, developer,
or construction company to make sure that the project is ready
for that interior installation.
Construction Planning and Administration
Jeff is responsible for all of our Construction Administration
work. His back ground actually working construction and
as a general contractor combined with his architectural degree
and problem solving skills make him invaluable on the construction
site. He is often able to identify potential areas of concern
before they become an expensive problem and we have had clients
hire him to untangle construction problems on projects that are
not even our work! For all of our projects, he works to
plan out the best route for construction and/or interiors installations
and then stays involved during construction to make sure that
our clients get the best results for the money they are investing.
